A.B.P. (Tonnie) Staring, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and researcher at Altrecht Psychiatric Institute in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He is the Chair of the Psychosis Section of the Dutch Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (VGCt), CBT supervisor and EMDR therapist. He works as an editor for the Dutch Behavioural Therapy Journal. Tonnie has been an active clinician for 13 years. His research work has focussed on psychosis, motivation, trauma, self-esteem, stigma, and negative symptoms. He was involved in several clinical trials. He is the co-author of several books and published more than 45 national and international papers and book-chapters. He is a trainer for continuing development teaching prorammes for clinical psychologists and psychiatrists. He has given international training within specific projects of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaboration Centre, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and National Health Service (NHS).
