Dr Worthington is a Consultant Psychologist who has over 15 years experience of working in secure settings ranging from high, medium and low secure hospitals to locked and open rehabilitation  and community residential services.  She is a Chartered Psychologist, and a full member of the Division of Forensic Psychology, including holding Associate Fellow status.  She is also a Chartered Scientist and is fully registered with the HCPC.  Dr Worthington is also an accredited therapist in EMDR for the treatment of trauma.  She has had two articles published in peer reviewed publications describing the therapeutic application of EMDR for women with complex trauma and has also presented at the European EMDR Conference in relation to this.  Dr Worthington is the author of the Trauma Informed Additional Programme (TIA-P) which is a group based EMDR intervention designed to reduce aggression in clients with a history of trauma and challenging behaviour.  She has published the successful outcome of this intervention at the Division of Forensic Psychology Conference (2015) and has also had this work published in an internationally peer reviewed journal.  Dr Worthington has also presented this work at the 9th European Congress in Clinical Psychiatry and this work is recognised by the International Organisation of Forensic Practitioners.
